EDE569 Interprofessional Education in Health Professions

Interprofessional education (IPE) is an approach to teaching and learning that brings together students from two or more professions to learn about, from and with each other in service of enabling effective collaboration. The goal of IPE is to improve the quality and safety of patient care through better teamwork and collaboration. In this course, health professions education students will learn about the importance of interprofessional collaboration, IPE pedagogy, and how to assess and evaluate the efficacy of IPE. The course will model best practices in adult and workplace learning methods including experiential learning, small group learning, debriefing, reflection, and authentic assessment.
